Oh Canada! Day 3

Day 3 started with a BANG....cos we headed to IHOP for breakfast!! Now for the uninitiated, IHOP stands for International House of Pancakes....and for the even more uninitiated...I unequivocally love pancakes. I mean...I could eat pancakes "3 meals a day" kind of love! Anyway...we made an early start and made our way down to the IHOP at Brentwood Mall.

Now this is exactly how I imagined a pancake house would be in North America....although the maple syrup jug was a little small for my liking. Anyhow I went with the Strawberry and Banana pancakes which is basically that...Strawberries, Bananas, 4 pancakes...and a load of cream on top...which i then proceeded to drown in maple syrup....Good times as seen below!!

After a memorable breakfast, we headed to a scenic lake close by which goes by the name of Deer Lake. Really nice and peaceful location, which had a scattering of joggers doing laps. We went for a stroll ourselves and took a few nice photos. The weather was starting to warm up and it was turning into an amazing day!

After this we had time before lunch so we drove up to Burnaby Mountain where we had more photo opportunities. Some awesome views and some scenic paths to walk along.

After spending some time walking around we headed for lunch...todays choice...Sukiyaki! The all you can eat variety...which is my favorite variety! The other thing in Canada which im enjoying more and more is the limitless refills on drinks...my drink of choice being 7-Up!

After lunch we travelled out to Queen Elizabeth park, which is made up of some absolutely beautiful gardens. Throughout the park, countless wedding couples were doing the rounds, taking their wedding photos throughout the park. Got some photos there too.

Dinner for day 3 was at the very swanky and classy restaurant West. Located just out of downtown Vancouver, this was something I have been looking forward to for quite some time and I wasnt disappointed one bit. For starters:

QUALICUM BAY SCALLOPS
VANCOUVER
ISLAND BUFFALO MOZZARELLA, OYAMA SCHINKENSPECK, MELON, GREEN STRAWBERRIES, SARAWAK PEPPERCORN

CRISPY PEKING DUCK RAVIOLI
ENOKI MUSHROOMS, SESAME SCENTED DUCK CONSOMME

Then for our mains:
LOIS LAKE STEELHEAD TROUT
BEETS, MOREL MUSHROOMS, ALSATIAN BACON, HAZELNUTS, CARAMELIZEDORANGE JUS

THIESSEN FARM MUSCOVY DUCK
WILDFLOWER HONEY GLAZE, SANTA ROSA PLUMS, OATS, GINGER JUS

The food was delicious and I highly recommend a trip there if you are in Vancouver.

All in all...another wonderful day in Vancouver!
